Hilton Head 2009

Hey, Y'all!!!!
In early September we took a trip to
Hilton Head, South Carolina.
This time we shared our trip
with Micheal's sister and her husband,
Pam & Jim Farmer.
While there, we enjoyed beautiful weather,
historic sites and great food.

We fell in love with historic
Savanna, Georgia.
With great architecture and
" whimsical accent"
we found it to be enchanting.

We got the opportunity
of also visiting
Charleston, South Carolina.

While there we also visited
Fort Sumter...

We spend the day in
Tybee Island,
doing some shopping and
visiting it's lighthouse.

 And...
speaking of great fried chicken,
We will experience
good tasting buffet's at
The Walker House and Paula Deen's
restaurants.

We are sharing photos
of the trip.
Enjoy!!

South America 2009

After a long and eventful
plane ride we arrive in
Santiago, Chile.
This is where we will meet our friends
Jim & Lorriann Lazarowicz's
to start our 14 day cruise to
South America.

We arrive at the airport in Santiago
but then we transfer to a bus
heading to the town of Valparaiso.

We start sailing the coast of Chile.
It's cold! It's overcast!

We arrive to our first glacier...
the Amalia Glacier.
How peaceful...how cold...burr!!

We arrive to
Punta Arenas, Chile.

We arrive to our next glacier,
at the Beagle Channel.

Our next stop is
Ushuaia, Argentina.

We travel to
Tierra del Fuego National Park.
Also known as
"The End of the World"
the southern tip of Southamerica.

We have heard a trip
passing Cape Horn can be rough,
we have luck on our side...
smooth sailing!

We arrive at
Stanley, Falkland Islands.
We get to enjoy the view from the boat
and miss a day with penguins...
Cachita gets sick!

Feeling better
and avoiding a cancellation...
we arrive at
Montevideo, Uruguay.

We are disappointed
when an approaching storm cancels
our trip to
Buenos Aires, Argentina.

We will stay for a
second day in Montevideo
and enjoy their friendly people,
shopping and food.

After 14 days we disembark in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Almost immediately
you feel the inmensity of the place
being that it is the 5th largest country
in the world

We have our accommodations
at the Copacabana beach area.

We take a tour of the city...

...it's beaches, parks...

We have spotted and photograph
the statue of...
"Christ  the Redeemer"
from all over the city
...you can't miss it!

We will take a train
up the Corcovado Mountain
to reach the immense statue.

...the views from up here are
terrific!

...we continue our city overview.

We arrive at...
Sugarloaf Mountain.

...a different view from here,
just as terrific!

Adeus!

Enjoy our pictures!
